Midlands Competition – Prize Sponsor Terms and Conditions

1. Overview

These Terms and Conditions apply to all businesses and organisations (“Prize Sponsors”) that participate in the My Midlands Competition, managed and promoted by Go South Africa / My Midlands under the direction of Anthea Forder.

By submitting a Prize Sponsor Form or providing a prize for inclusion in the competition, the sponsor indicates their full agreement to these terms and conditions.

2. Prize Commitments

  • Once a prize has been submitted and accepted, it may not be revoked or withdrawn.
  • Prize Sponsors may offer additional prizes, vouchers, or discounts at any time during the campaign.
  • All prizes must be valid for a minimum of 12 months from the competition’s closing date (i.e. valid until 16 January 2027).
  • Any restrictions (e.g. valid on weekdays only, excluding public holidays or festive seasons) must be discussed and approved in writing by Anthea Forder before the prize is accepted.
  • Prizes with restrictions will be classified as mini giveaways rather than part of the main prize package.
  • Main prizes must be suitable for four (4) people unless otherwise agreed. Prizes for fewer or more people may be included as mini giveaways or standalone promotions.

3. Prize Delivery and Redemption

  • The Prize Sponsor is responsible for honouring the prize and managing all redemption or booking arrangements directly with the winner.
  • Prizes are not transferable, have no cash value, and may not be exchanged for monetary compensation.
  • The Prize Sponsor must ensure availability and clear communication with winners regarding redemption terms.
  • If a prize becomes unavailable, the sponsor agrees to provide a substitute prize of equal or greater value, subject to approval by My Midlands.

4. Add-Ons and Optional Packages

  • Prize Sponsors are not required to take optional add-ons at the time of signing up.
  • Sponsors may, at any time before the competition concludes, choose to:
    • Purchase a copy of the competition database for R3,000 (delivered after competition close).
    • Purchase a custom landing page (limited to 20 sponsors) to drive traffic to their own website or social media channels and qualify for bonus entry tracking.
  • Only the first 20 prize sponsors will be included in the leaderboard system that awards entrants bonus entries for visiting the sponsor’s social media or sharing their sponsor name to the dedicated WhatsApp number.

5. Promotional Use

  • By joining as a Prize Sponsor, you grant My Midlands permission to use your business name, logo, prize details, and images for promotional purposes across digital, print, social media, and WhatsApp marketing channels.
  • Sponsors are encouraged to share competition links and promotions through their own platforms to maximise visibility and engagement.

6. Liability and Compliance

  • My Midlands, Go South Africa, and Anthea Forder shall not be held liable for any claims, losses, or damages arising from the use or redemption of sponsored prizes.
  • Sponsors are responsible for ensuring their prize complies with relevant consumer protection and promotional laws.
  • All sponsor data will be handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

7. General Conditions

  • The competition closing date is 16 January 2026 at 18:00.
  • The winner of the main prize will be drawn on 16 January 2026, and prize sponsors will be notified of results thereafter.
  • Participation as a Prize Sponsor does not constitute any partnership, employment, or joint venture with My Midlands.
  • My Midlands reserves the right to update or amend these terms with notice to all active sponsors.
  • The decision of My Midlands / Anthea Forder regarding all matters relating to prize inclusion, eligibility, and final prize allocation shall be final and binding.
